Job summary

Reserve Bank of Australia is seeking experienced Lead or Senior Analysts to support financial stability. You will identify systemic risks, assess vulnerabilities and develop recommendations to strengthen resilience across the Australian financial system.

You will prepare briefing materials for senior executives, collaborate on cross-functional projects, and coach junior staff while gaining exposure to APRA and other agencies. A hybrid work model and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, and an aptitude for handling data.
• High standards in the production of written analysis.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, to drive timely delivery and collaboration on projects.
• An interest in developing leadership skills would be valued.
• Knowledge of how financial institutions operate and prudential regulation is desirable, but not a prerequisite for the role.
• Hold a degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field, with a strong foundation in economic and/or financial principles.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and assessing systemic risks and vulnerabilities.
• Developing recommendations based on analysis related to the resilience of financial institutions and preparations for crisis conditions.
• Preparing briefing materials and analysis for the Reserve Bank’s senior executives.
• Analysing the links between different parts of the financial system.
