Job summary

Nuix in Sydney is expanding its AI engineering team and seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own features from design to deployment. You’ll work on Enrich, our data-enrichment product, with Java, Python and React/TypeScript, collaborating with product, architecture and data science across time zones.

You will mentor engineers, improve non-functional quality, security and DevOps, and contribute to AI agent capabilities in the Nuix Neo platform.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Typically 7+ years' software engineering experience with end-to-end delivery.
• Strong backend Java and Spring framework experience; React/TypeScript is valued.
• Python exposure and comfort with model-backed components and data scientists is a plus.
• Experience with containerised, cloud and on-prem delivery (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS) desirable.
• Interest or experience in AI/LLM-backed features, agents or NLP/document-intelligence domains is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of significant features and epics—design, build, test and ship.
• Raise non-functional quality standards (security, performance, DevOps) and ensure architecture principles are followed.
• Provide thoughtful code reviews and capture security concerns; promote secure-by-design practices.
• Set and refine code best practices; help maintain and improve QA gates.
• Be active in architecture discussions and contribute to target state.
• Drive collaboration across teams and geographies.
• Mentor and support mid-level, associate and graduate engineers.
• Contribute to design, evaluation, and shipping of AI agents and agentic capabilities in the platform.
