Job summary

Nuix in Sydney seeks a Principal Software Engineer to anchor our AI-driven Enrich data-enrichment product within the Nuix Neo platform. You will own architecture, guide reliable, secure delivery, and contribute code while mentoring engineers.

The role blends hands-on development with cross-team influence, focusing on AI/agentic capabilities and scalable, secure software across SaaS and on‑prem variants.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Engineering or related quantitative discipline.
• At least 10 years’ software engineering experience (minimum 8) with scale.
• Experience shipping AI features or AI/ML products is desirable.
• Strong backend Java and Spring; full-stack with TypeScript/React; backend essential.
• Python exposure valuable; comfortable with data scientists and ML workflows.
• Experience across on-prem and SaaS/cloud delivery (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS).
• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-backed features.
• Familiarity with NLP or data-enrichment technologies.
• Self-driven, autonomous, and capable of driving technical improvements across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead application architecture with the Architecture function.
• Define and converge on target-state technology and patterns.
• Set and uphold engineering standards (security, quality).
• Improve reliability and performance; guide complex customer issues.
• Contribute production code and provide thoughtful PR reviews.
• Mentor engineers and grow technical capability across teams.
• Contribute to AI agents and agentic workflows design and delivery.
• Champion cross-team interoperability across Nuix Neo.
