Job summary

IAG is hiring a Senior Agentic Software Engineer in the Retail Insurance Australia (RIA) Digital & Channel Engineering group. You will be a senior hands-on technical leader shaping agentic software practices, delivering complex solutions and improving reusable capabilities across the team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience delivering complex software, data or automation solutions with hands-on leadership.
• Strong software engineering across architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, release management, security and production support.
• Practical experience with AI coding tools, software agents, agentic workflows or engineering automation.
• Ability to design reusable engineering capabilities such as standards, instructions, workflows, controls, evaluations, automation and reference implementations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex, secure, scalable and maintainable software and data solutions using agentic software engineering practices.
• Design and improve reusable engineering capabilities, including agent instructions, skills, workflows, controls, evaluation approaches, automation and reference implementations.
• Engineer reliable workflows that provide software agents with appropriate context, tools, permissions, testing, validation, escalation and recovery mechanisms.
• Convert incidents, recurring failures, review findings and delivery insights into improved standards, tests, controls, workflows and reusable assets.
• Mentor engineers and support teams adopting agentic software engineering practices, lifting engineering quality and capability.
• Lead practical experimentation with emerging agentic engineering technologies and translate successful approaches into scalable practices.
