Job summary

IAG, the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand, is seeking a Senior Agentic Software Engineer for its Retail Insurance Australia division. This permanent full-time role can be based in Gadigal Country (Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane).

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex software, data or automation solutions with hands-on technical leadership.
• Capabilities across architecture, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, release management, security.
• Experience adopting or implementing AI coding tools and agentic workflows.
• Ability to design reusable engineering capabilities and reference implementations.
• Strong systems thinking and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of complex, secure, scalable software and data solutions.
• Design and improve reusable engineering capabilities and reference implementations.
• Engineer reliable workflows for software agents with context, tools, permissions and testing.
• Convert incidents and delivery insights into improved standards and assets.
• Mentor engineers and support teams in agentic practices and code reviews.
• Lead experimentation with emerging agentic technologies and translate to scalable practices.
