Job summary

Western Union Australia seeks an experienced AFSL Compliance Manager to govern and oversee obligations under AFSL and related frameworks. You will act as the subject matter expert, ensuring licensing compliance and engaging stakeholders across the business to support strategic initiatives.

The role focuses on governance, monitoring, policy development and independent review, balancing regulatory demands with sustainable growth and a strong compliance culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Management, Legal or Financial Services Governance.
• Bachelor's degree in law, Finance, Commerce, Business, Governance, Risk Management or related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Compliance, Governance, Risk or Law desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the AFSL governance framework, including monitoring license conditions and Responsible Manager requirements.
• Lead licensing activities: license applications, variations, regulator notifications and regulatory reporting.
• Assess regulatory changes and advise on control, policy and procedure uplift; independently review implementation.
