Job summary

Western Union Australia is seeking an experienced AFSL Compliance Manager to govern and oversee licensing obligations across the AFSL framework. You will act as the subject matter expert, driving governance, policy development and regulatory engagement to support sustainable growth.

The role partners with Product, Risk, Legal and Compliance teams, leads cross‑functional licensing initiatives and ensures ongoing regulatory compliance and risk mitigation through independent oversight and advisory

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience within Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Management, Legal or Financial Services Governance.
• At least 5 years managing licensing, regulatory compliance or governance activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage AFSL governance framework, monitor license conditions and Responsible Manager requirements.
• Lead licensing activities including license applications, variations, regulator notifications, attestations and reporting.
• Assess regulatory changes and advise on required control, policy uplift and implementation reviews.
• Conduct independent compliance oversight, risk assessments and remediation governance.
• Provide compliance advisory support to strategic initiatives, product developments and senior stakeholders.
