City of Melbourne is seeking a Senior Advisor, Corporate Communications to shape how the City communicates with its community. You’ll craft high-quality content across channels, from speeches and publications to digital content, aligning messaging with Council priorities and city storytelling.

Working with senior leaders and teams, you’ll translate complex information into clear, engaging messages, provide strategic advice, and help Melbourne position itself as a vibrant, liveable destination

Qualifications

• Experience in researching, writing and editing speeches and digital content.
• Excellent written communication tailored to diverse audiences.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality content across channels including speeches and digital content.
• Draft speeches, key messages for the Lord Mayor, councillors and CEO.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align messaging with Council priorities.
• Provide strategic communications advice within timelines.
