Job summary

Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support is seeking a Talent Acquisition Advisor to assist the Manager with recruitment pathways and culturally appropriate selection for youth detention roles. You will deliver guidance to executives and applicants and support strategic recruitment projects.

You will engage communities and stakeholders to attract talent, manage portfolios across locations, and help build a diverse, capable workforce.

Responsibilities

• Deliver culturally appropriate recruitment and selection advice to executives and applicants for youth detention roles.
• Facilitate community engagement and talent-attraction activities to fill vacancies in youth detention centres.
• Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enable quality service delivery and outcomes.
• Contribute to initiatives for a diverse and culturally capable workforce.
• Prepare HR reports and correspondence and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain knowledge of HR practices to deliver contemporary HR solutions to clients.
• Contribute to service evaluation and new initiatives to support continuous improvement of HR management.
• Participate in a cohesive, high-performing team.

Job description

Within this scope you will assist the Manager to identify relevant talent acquisition pathways, deliver practical information about culturally appropriate recruitment and selection methods, and contribute expert knowledge and skills to assist the team to implement strategic recruitment projects within a dynamic and evolving workforce environment and with a complex workforce in mind.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver contemporary culturally appropriate advice and consulting services to executives, and applicants relating to recruitment and selection for roles within the youth detention stream of the Department.
• With direction from the manager, facilitate community engagement and talent attraction activities with a view to manage portfolios of clients, applicants and locations to fill vacancies in youth detention centres.
• Build professional and productive working partnerships with a portfolio of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate quality service delivery, practice and outcomes.
• Work closely with other areas to contribute to initiatives that enable the growth of a diverse and culturally capable workforce.
• Prepare reports and other correspondence related to human resource matters and issues, and ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Maintain sound and current knowledge of human resource management practices, policy and procedures to ensure contemporary human resource solutions are delivered to clients.
• Contribute to the evaluation of services and the implementation of new initiatives from the Department's strategic and operational plans to ensure continuous improvement and implementation of quality human resource management to achieve organisational strategic goals.
• Participate as part of a cohesive high performing team in which all members' contributions are valued and encouraged.

This role will require a valid Blue Card.
