Youth Justice and Victim Support in Cairns, QLD is seeking a Youth Worker to support young people subject to youth justice interventions, provide supervision, and help with reintegration into the community.

You will work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, negotiate with agencies, maintain records, and contribute to case planning while aligning with the Human Rights Act 2019.

Responsabilidades

• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Provide supervision and support to young people in accordance with relevant legislative provisions, strategic priorities, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures and contemporary best practice.
• Support the Program Coordinator in relation to the maintenance of services for young people subject to youth justice interventions.
• Provide supervision and support to young people to assist with their compliance with court orders and reintegration into the community in accordance with the case plan.
• Negotiate with other Government and community agencies, on behalf of young people, so as to enhance their access to services in accordance with the case plan.
• Maintain records of program attendance and prepare reports to assist case planning and reviews, and attend these meetings as required.
• Develop and maintain a relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people and services.
• Provide support and advice to colleagues on culturally appropriate services in a youth justice context.

1x Temporary, Full-Time until 07 January 2027

2x Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: $73,858 to $80,824 per annum, plus 12.75% superannuation

As Youth Worker, you will specifically:
