Job summary

Senior Accounts Receivable Officer role in Chatswood NSW 2067 within a respected not-for-profit organisation. Take ownership of AR processes, manage complex billing, and support day-to-day operations while mentoring junior staff.

The role offers a hybrid work model (3 days in office), salary between $85k-$90k plus super and salary packaging, with exposure to senior stakeholders and opportunities for leadership development.

Qualifications

• Experience within Accounts Receivable, Collections or a similar finance role.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in not-for-profit, health care, aged care, or community services environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Accounts Receivable function and support day-to-day operations.
• Manage complex billing, payments, allocations, journals, credits and account adjustments.
• Monitor aged debtors and proactively manage collections activities.
• Handle escalated customer and stakeholder queries with professionalism and empathy.
• Perform reconciliations, reporting and month-end activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records across customer, bond and accommodation accounts.
• Partner with operational teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to enhance systems, controls and processes.
• Act as a senior team member, providing guidance and support to junior staff.

THE ROLE

• Take ownership of the Accounts Receivable function and support day-to-day operations
• Manage complex billing, payments, allocations, journals, credits and account adjustments
• Monitor aged debtors and proactively manage collections activities
• Handle escalated customer and stakeholder queries with professionalism and empathy
• Perform reconciliations, reporting and month-end activities
• Assist with government funding reconciliations and administrative requirements
• Maintain accurate financial records across customer, bond and accommodation accounts
• Partner closely with operational teams to resolve issues and improve outcomes
• Identify opportunities to enhance systems, controls and processes
• Act as a senior team member, providing guidance and support to junior staff where required

THE PERSON

• Experience within Accounts Receivable, Collections or a similar finance role
• Demonstrated experience managing complex billing and reconciliation processes
• Strong understanding of debtor management and customer account administration
• Natural leadership qualities with the desire to mentor and develop others
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience within Aged Care, Health Care, NFP or Retirement Living environments will be highly regarded
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies
• ERP systems experience is advantageous
