The Northern Suburbs Rugby League Club in Brisbane is seeking a capable Senior Accountant to support the General Manager and Group Financial Controller in daily financial operations. You will own key reporting and assist in strategic financial planning within a community-focused club.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• CA/CPA qualification desirable but not essential.
• Experience in a senior accounting/finance role, ideally in a multi-entity or SME environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Experience using Xero and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for review by the General Manager and Board.
• Assist with budgeting and variance analysis, highlighting variances with supporting analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain forecasts to support day-to-day operations.
• Support payroll function and payroll compliance, with backup as needed.
• Handle reconciliations, journals, and month-end processes; ensure regulatory reporting.
• Support compliance with AUSTRAC for gaming and QRO for payroll tax obligations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
