Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to support financial accounting, reporting and compliance during a critical delivery phase.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role is hands-on and focused on delivering accurate financial information, assisting with month-end and year-end processes, and maintaining strong internal controls in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Qualifikationen

• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related discipline.
• Membership to CA/CPA is preferred.
• Experience in financial accounting, reporting and compliance functions, preferably in public sector or construction-related environment.
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience using ERP financial systems and strong Excel capability.

Aufgaben

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and government financial policies.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journals, reconciliations and financial reporting within required timeframes.
• Prepare workpapers and supporting documentation for internal and external audits and assist with audit queries.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and related disclosures.
• Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts with proper documentation.
• Support internal controls, reconciliations, delegations and procurement policy compliance.
• Provide advice on accounting treatment in line with Australian Standards and Queensland Treasury reporting requirements (capitalisation and asset accounting).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, systems and reporting.
• Liaise with shared services provider and internal stakeholders for timely, accurate transactions.
• Undertake other finance-related activities as required.
