Job summary

Queensland Civil Solutions (QCS) is seeking a senior accountant to join our Brisbane Head Office finance team. This hands-on role reports to the CFO and supports financial reporting, controls and commercial insights across multiple projects in a growing civil construction business.

You will partner with operational teams, manage month-end close, budgets and cash flow forecasts, and drive improvements in cost management and financial visibility.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA qualifications are highly regarded.
• Minimum 5 years' accounting experience in project-based industry.
• Experience in civil construction, engineering or infrastructure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience with project accounting and job costing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and project reports.
• Manage month-end processes, GL integrity and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with budgets, cash flow forecasts and financial projections.
• Monitor project financial performance, including job costing and WIP.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insights for management decisions.
• Oversee BAS, GST, payroll tax and statutory reporting.
• Coordinate year-end reporting, audits and intercompany transactions.
• Identify reporting discrepancies and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with operational teams to improve financial visibility and cost control.
