Job summary

Lawson Elliott Recruitment is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for their Sydney North Shore NSW operations. You will lead month-end close, prepare financial statements, and deliver statutory reports while ensuring IFRS and ASASB compliance. The role requires CA or CPA designation and experience in a large, complex business.

You'll mentor junior staff, partner with the wider business on financial queries, and contribute to process improvements in a dynamic infrastructure sector environment.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA designation is required.
• Experience in a large, complex business is preferred.
• Strong month-end deliverables and reporting process knowledge.
• Sound understanding of reporting standards (IFRS/ASASB).
• Big 4 or mid-tier experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

This infrastructure business are at the top of their game and experiencing strong growth across all sectors. Operating across Australia with a number of developments in the works, they continue to dominate their market and are looking to expand their already high performing finance team. Reporting into the Head of Finance, there is an opportunity for a technically strong, ambitious Senior Financial Accountant to join their ranks.

• Ownership of month end reporting process
• Financial statement preparation
• Preparation of statutory reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant reporting standards (IFRS, ASASB)
• Assist with management reporting, variance analysis, and providing commentary on financial results
• Oversee and support junior members of the team
• Partner with the wider business on financial queries
• Ad-hoc Tax support
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives

To be considered, you will be CA or CPA qualified. You will likely have spent time in a large, complex business, playing a key role in month end deliverables, be a confident self motivator, and have the ability to work autonomously. You will have a sound understanding of reporting standards. First movers from Big 4 and mid tier chartered accounting firms are encouraged to apply.
