Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of financial statement prep, tax compliance, and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team at Synergised Pty Ltd on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal position within our growing accounting and corporate advisory practice, based in Austral, NSW. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality financial services to our diverse client portfolio, whilst also contributing to the strategic growth and operational excellence of our firm. This role offers significant scope for professional development and the opportunity to mentor junior team members as you progress.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and accounting records for clients across various industries
• Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic recommendations to support client business decision-making
• Manage complex accounting matters including journal entries, reconciliations, and account management
• Liaise with clients to gather financial information, clarify accounting matters, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, taxation legislation, and regulatory requirements
• Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with audit and review engagements, working alongside audit teams as required
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development
• Contribute to business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships
• Utilise accounting software and systems efficiently to streamline processes and improve accuracy

What we're looking for

• A relevant accounting qualification such as a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, or equivalent professional qualification
• Professional membership or progress towards membership with a recognised accounting body, such as CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), or the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA)
• Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in accounting, financial reporting, and/or corporate advisory roles
• Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation, tax compliance, and accounting standards
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law and corporate compliance requirements
• Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheet applications, and financial analysis tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to clients and colleagues
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated leadership capability and experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
• A proactive approach to continuing professional development and staying current with industry changes
