Job summary

Kelly+Partners Accountants is seeking a Senior Accountant or Manager to join its Sydney CBD team. The role offers career progression, exposure to high-quality advisory work, and a long-term future within a growing firm.

You will work closely with Partners and senior leaders to deliver strategic advice and strengthen client relationships across a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will have 5–6 years in a Chartered Accounting Practice, CA qualifications or in CA program, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–6 years of experience in a Chartered Accounting Practice.
• CA qualification or current CA program enrollment; Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Partners to deliver high-quality tax planning and advisory services for a diverse client portfolio.
• Mentor and develop junior team members to support professional growth.
• Review preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs.
• Strengthen long-term client relationships through proactive advisory guidance and exceptional service.
• Assist with practice management and contribute to Sydney CBD office growth.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant or Manager to join a high-performing and supportive team in the heart of Sydney CBD. You'll work closely with clients and Partners, contribute to meaningful advisory work, and have the opportunity to grow your career within a firm that invests in its people and rewards ambition.

Position Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Partners and team members to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients
• Support the delivery of tax planning and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio
• Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Review and oversee the preparation of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs
• Build and strengthen long-term client relationships through proactive advice and exceptional service
• Review the preparation of BAS, IAS, FBT, CGT and PAYG obligations across a range of client structures
• Liaise with the ATO and other statutory authorities on behalf of clients
• Participate in training sessions, technical workshops, team meetings and social events
• Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Sydney CBD office

About You

• Minimum of 5-6 years' experience within a Chartered Accounting Practice
• CA qualified or currently undertaking the CA Program
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or a related discipline
• Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge
• Expertise in practice management platforms like MYOB AE, APS, HowNow, Active Ledger, Xero, and QuickBooks
• Knowledge of and experience with Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs) would be advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Passionate about building client relationships and delivering exceptional service
• Proactive, motivated and keen to continue developing professionally
