Job summary

VERTO in Albury is seeking a Part-time Participant Support Officer to assist SEE program participants in building confidence and achieving learning and employment goals. You will work with Trainers to foster a positive learning environment, connect participants with support services, and engage with community partners to drive outcomes.

The role emphasizes strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to support diverse participants.

Qualifications

  • Experience in employment services or related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and participant support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Right to Work checks and current licenses may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with participants and support them to achieve their goals.
  • Work with Trainers to create an inclusive, engaging learning environment.
  • Maintain relationships with referral partners, employers and community organisations.
  • Promote the SEE Program within the local community and increase referrals.
  • Provide individualised guidance and referrals to support services to improve engagement and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and program documentation.

Job description

Part-time position based in Albury20 hours per week, working Tuesday to Friday – (School hours and alternative days considered for the right candidate)As a Participant Support Officer, you will support Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program participants to build confidence, overcome barriers, and achieve their learning and employment goals. Working closely with Trainers, you will promote the program, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, connect participants with support services, and build strong relationships with community partners and employers to achieve positive outcomes.

About the role....
  • Build strong relationships with participants and support them to achieve their goals.
  • Work closely with Trainers to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment that encourages attendance, retention and success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with referral partners, employers, government agencies and community organisations.
  • Promote the SEE Program within the local community and identify opportunities to increase referrals and participant engagement.
  • Support participants to overcome barriers to learning and employment through individualised guidance, referrals to appropriate support services, and the development of strategies and activities that improve engagement, confidence, employability and overall outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate participant records, file notes, referrals and program documentation in line with contractual and organisational requirements.

About you....

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A passion for helping others to achieve their goals
  • Experience in employment services, participant support, community services, education and training, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and participant support.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing internal/external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing conflict and challenging customer behaviour.
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Certificate IV Qualification in relevant field desirable but not essential.
