This full-time, on-site role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience, strong troubleshooting skills, OH&S compliance, and the ability to travel to client sites within the Greater Melbourne region. You will document work and educate clients on system operation.

Role Description: The Security Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Melbourne Area, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining CCTV, Alarm, Access Control and related security systems for a range of clients. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site assessments, performing cable runs and hardware installation, setting up network-connected surveillance and alarm systems, and ensuring systems operate reliably and securely. The technician will diagnose and resolve technical issues, complete scheduled service calls within agreed timeframes, and provide clear documentation of work performed. This role also involves educating clients on system operation, adhering to occupational health and safety requirements, and collaborating with the broader team to deliver high-quality, compliant security solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of Experience as Security Technician
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills for CCTV, alarm systems, and related security hardware.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and network security principles relevant to IP-based surveillance systems.
• Understanding of occupational health and safety standards and safe work practices for on-site installations.
• Experience with alarm systems, access control, and other electronic security solutions.
• Experienced with Inner range, Gallagher, ICT, Tecom, VMS, etc.
• Prior experience in security installation or electrical/communications trades is highly desirable.
• Relevant licensing or certifications for security system installation and compliance within the region.
• Ability to read technical drawings, follow installation specifications, and document service activities accurately.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites within the Greater Melbourne Area.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service and support.
