Job summary

CITACT Security is seeking a hands-on Security Technician for Port Melbourne, working across commercial and enterprise projects in Melbourne. You will install, commission, service and maintain electronic security systems while collaborating with Projects and Operations teams to deliver outstanding client outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in electronic security, with CCTV, Access Control and Intruder Alarm experience, plus IP networking know-how and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in the electronic security industry.
• Experience with commercial Access Control systems.
• CCTV installation and commissioning experience.
• Intruder Alarm installation and servicing experience.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of IP networking and connected devices.
• Current Security Industry Licence and ACMA Open Cabling Registration.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Alarm and Intercom systems.
• Program and configure security platforms and field devices.
• Service, maintain and fault-find across existing client sites.
• Test and commission newly installed systems.
• IP device configuration and basic network troubleshooting.
• System upgrades, expansions and migrations.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and project documentation.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and documentation.
• Liaise professionally with customers, builders, consultants and other trades.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.

This is a hands‑on role working across a variety of commercial and enterprise security projects throughout Melbourne. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of electronic security systems while working closely with our Projects and Operations teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients. The position is ideal for a technician who enjoys both field installation and technical problem-solving and wants exposure to modern integrated security technologies.

Key responsibilities

Installation and commissioning of Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Alarm and Intercom systems

Programming and configuration of security platforms and field devices

Service, maintenance and fault finding across existing client sites

Testing and commissioning of newly installed systems

IP device configuration and basic network troubleshooting

System upgrades, expansions and technology migrations

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and project documentation

Maintaining high standards of workmanship and documentation

Liaising professionally with customers, builders, consultants and other trades

Working collaboratively with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure successful project delivery

About you

3+ years' experience in the electronic security industry
