Job summary

NSW Health, Concord Repatriation General Hospital in Sydney, seeks a Security Officer to safeguard staff, patients and visitors across the hospital campus and related services.

Role includes patrols, alarm and access control operations, and responding to incidents on a 12-hour rotating roster. NSW Health requires Security Industry Act Class 1A licensure and current First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• Licensed according to the Security Industry Act 1997 – Class 1A and current Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Customer service skills with high personal integrity and motivation.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and complete patrols and security duties during a shift.
• Experience with alarm systems, access control, CCTV and Fire Indication Panels (FIP).
• Experience handling challenging situations with empathy, integrity and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors and property on the hospital campus in a positive, attentive and prompt manner.
• Provide security support to the Mental Health Service and support Concord Repatriation General Hospital operations.
• Operate on a 12-hour shift with a 24/7 rotating roster.

The aim of this position is to ensure the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors and property on the hospital campus in a positive, attentive and prompt manner.

The role is primarily based at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, while also providing security support to the Mental Health Service.

Ideal Candidate

• Licenced according to the Security Industry Act 1997 – Class 1 A and current Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Customer service skills with a high degree of personal integrity and motivation.
• Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision and complete all patrols and other security-related duties during a shift.
• Demonstrated experience and a sound understanding of alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV, and Fire Indication Panels (FIP).
• Proven experience in communicating and responding to challenging and aggressive situations, including interactions with distressed persons, while demonstrating empathy, integrity, and resilience in a variety of circumstances
• Ability to perform 12 hour shift work on a 24/7 rotating roster.

A current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
