Job summary

Johnson Controls in Sydney is seeking an experienced Security Service Technician to join our service team. You will service and maintain advanced security systems across commercial sites, perform installs, upgrades and commissioning, and develop strong client relationships.

The role offers hands-on technical problem solving, exposure to multiple security platforms, and opportunities to progress into project delivery, leadership and sales tracks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar security technician role.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding experience.
• Sound networking, systems and PC knowledge.
• Experience installing, servicing and commissioning electronic security systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair security systems across customer sites
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and system inspections
• Deliver small to medium security upgrades and fit-out projects
• Commission newly installed security systems
• Prepare quotations for repair works and recommended upgrades
• Build strong relationships with customers and provide expert technical support
• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery
• Support the wider Projects Team across new and existing customer sites

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Security Service Technician to join our Sydney Service Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys a variety of work, strong customer relationships, and hands‑on technical problem‑solving. You'll work across a portfolio of commercial customers, servicing and maintaining advanced security systems while also managing small to medium upgrades and fit‑out projects.

You'll have the opportunity to expand your expertise and develop your career into areas such as project delivery, commissioning, technical leadership, sales, and management.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Security Service Technician, you will:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair security systems across customer sites

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and system inspections

• Deliver small to medium security upgrades and fit‑out projects

• Commission newly installed security systems

• Prepare quotations for repair works and recommended upgrades

• Build strong relationships with customers and provide expert technical support

• Coordinate with subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery

• NVRs, DVRs and network‑based security infrastructure

Experience or certifications in Gallagher, C•CURE or Integrity are highly regarded but not essential.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar security technician role

• Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding experience

• Sound networking, systems and PC knowledge

• Experience installing, servicing and commissioning electronic security systems

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

Essential Requirements

• Australian working rights

• Current NSW Driver Licence

• Current Security Licence

• Current Cabling Registration

• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
