Job summary

Engage Security Professionals in Geelong, VIC, seeks a dedicated Security Officer for a part-time, on-site position. You will patrol, monitor access, inspect systems, and report incidents with professionalism.

You’ll interact with staff and clients, uphold security standards, and liaise with emergency services when needed. Ideal candidates are licensed, physically fit, reliable, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Current or eligible for a Security Licence issued by Victoria Police.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work professionally with clients, colleagues, and emergency services.
• Excellent observational skills and the ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform patrols on foot or by vehicle in varying weather conditions.
• Reliability and punctuality, with the capacity to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required.
• Problem-solving abilities and sound judgment to respond appropriately to security threats and incidents.
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
• Proficiency in completing written reports and maintaining accurate documentation.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it (desirable).
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas on foot or by vehicle to monitor for suspicious activity and ensure the security of premises.
• Monitor and control access to buildings and facilities, checking identification and maintaining visitor logs.
• Conduct regular inspections of security systems, alarms, cameras, and lighting to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergency situations in a calm and professional manner.
• Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities in writing with accuracy and detail.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
• Communicate effectively with law enforcement and emergency services when required.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant security protocols, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Assist clients with enquiries and provide excellent customer service whilst maintaining professional standards.
