Job summary

DroneShield Sydney headquarters is seeking a Detection and Response Engineer to join the Security team. You will own and improve detection strategies, handle incident response, and drive automation to scale security operations across endpoints, cloud, and SaaS environments.

The role emphasizes proactive improvements, collaboration with engineering and IT, and the use of threat intelligence to reduce risk and accelerate containment.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in security operations, incident response, or detection engineering.
• Hands-on experience investigating security incidents in cloud or enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms and log analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, tune, and maintain detection rules across SIEM and security tooling.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents across endpoints, cloud, and SaaS environments.
• Contribute to automation of detection and response workflows (scripts, playbooks).
• Conduct post-incident reviews and contribute to lessons learned.
• Communicate findings and incident updates to stakeholders.
