Job summary

Snap Inc. in Sydney is seeking a Security Engineer to join the Detection and Response team. You will build and operate large-scale security systems, investigate alerts, and lead incident response efforts across our endpoints, networks, and cloud environments.

The role requires strong Python or Go skills, experience with ZeroTrust/BeyondCorp, and hands-on analysis of forensics, malware, and threat intel. You will collaborate with global teams and evolve our security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; 3+ years in incident response or detection engineering.
• Proven ability to coordinate large security events with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python and/or Go.

Responsibilities

• Build, deploy and maintain large scale security systems across ecosystem.
• Research and improve security capabilities with new tooling.
• Develop automation to reduce manual alert triage.
• Investigate alerts end-to-end including forensics, malware analysis, threat intelligence.
• Lead incident response efforts and coordinate with multiple teams.
• Participate in red team exercises and threat simulations.
