Job summary
Hitachi Vantara is seeking a skilled service engineer in Melbourne to deliver maintenance and professional services across customer sites. You will manage post-sales support, perform installations and upgrades, and provide remote and on-site remediation as required.
The role requires strong hardware/software knowledge, customer-facing experience, and the ability to work flexibly, including after-hours and 24/7 on-call support to Hitachi Vantara's customers.
Qualifications
- Must have strong SAN, Fibre and Storage knowledge.
- Experience with Windows Server, Linux and VMware in real environments.
- Customer-facing service delivery experience is essential.
- Willingness to provide 24/7 on-call support and after-hours work when required.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely post-sales support aligned with customer agreements.
- Perform preventative maintenance and aim for low RGAs in microcode.
- Manage problem escalation with GSC and Field Service Engineers.
- Install and upgrade solutions and reconfigure sites as needed.
- Deliver professional services and changes to customer environments.
- Provide 24/7 on-call remediation support for customers.
- Demonstrate products to customers and staff, sharing basic product knowledge.
- Report new opportunities or threats to the Sales Team.
- Comply with Hitachi Vantara policies and procedures and perform duties accordingly.
