Job summary

Verse is seeking a hands-on Security Analyst for a short-term contract in Australia to bolster cybersecurity posture. You will handle security monitoring, incident response, risk management, and continuous improvement across a complex IT environment.

You will identify cyber risks, investigate incidents, and enhance information security controls and processes. The role requires strong collaboration with IT teams and a proactive approach to security capability uplift.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security analyst experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security risk assessments for third-party apps, tools, and cloud or as-a-Service solutions.
• Maintain and improve business process documentation and security procedures.
• Monitor security events and analyse potential incidents across the organisation.
• Lead IT security and risk activities to identify, monitor, and improve cyber risk management.
• Investigate security incidents, coordinate resolution and preventive actions, and provide timely stakeholder updates.
• Oversee and improve information security controls, services, and system performance.
• Review asset and system monitoring results to identify anomalies, indicators of compromise, and other potential threats.
• Coordinate scheduled security scans, reviews, and compliance testing against security policies and standards.
• Maintain and protect network and security systems through SIEM and log monitoring, patching, vulnerability management, and malware defence.
• Diagnose and prioritise security breaches, conduct impact assessments, and perform root cause analysis.
• Provide security advisory services to IT teams and support security capability uplift.
