The ideal candidate has practical IT security experience, strong communication, and a client-service mindset. Melbourne-based applicants preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist cybersecurity program assessments using recognised industry frameworks.

Job description

We are seeking an Information Security Analyst to join the team on a full-time basis. This is a great opportunity to step into a Security role if you have worked in the IT industry for a couple of years. This role will suit somebody who has worked in a service desk or has been part of the technical team at a managed service provider. You must believe amazing customer service is a non-negotiable!

This is a highly technical role with 80% of your time being on the tools. This role is not suitable for individuals with no experience in IT engineering or support.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting cybersecurity program assessments utilising recognised industry frameworks
• Scoping, planning and implementing uplift programmes within customer environments to support their cyber security goals
• Assisting customers with Security Incidents
• Deploying, managing and troubleshooting IT and IT Security related Controls and Applications.
• Assisting customers with the configuration of their security controls
• Assisting with Response and Recovery Plan, Playbook writing and review
• Assisting with evaluating cybersecurity risk profiles in relation to both technical conditions and business significance
• Analysing security risks, developing effective treatments
• Articulating risks and recommended treatments to business stakeholders
• Involvement in internal projects to help innovate security engineering
• Supporting Security Consulting and Penetration Testing teams where required

About you

• A good understanding of cyber security concepts
• Hands on technical experience in Microsoft 365 and Azure, predominately, but experience in AWS and Google Cloud would be advantageous
• Some hands on experience with tooling such as EDR and SIEM would be preferred
• Have a keen desire to learn and absorb new technologies including AI for automation and process improvement
• Have a risk-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
• Be able to work independently and within a team
• Have a proven ability to solve problems independently

Due to the nature of the role, the ideal candidate will be located in Melbourne and able to attend the office.
