Postino Osteria in Summer Hill (Sydney) is seeking experienced Section Waiters and Sommeliers to deliver warm, polished service in a buzzing 130-seat setting. The role involves owning a section, guiding guests through food and wine, and contributing to à la carte service, group dining and events.

We offer a competitive full-time salary with superannuation and growth opportunities within Maestro Hospitality, plus tips and incentives. RSA and Australian work rights are required.

Qualificações

• 1-3 years experience as a Section Waiter / Sommelier within premium or fine dining environments
• Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards
• Experience managing a wine program
• Australian RSA certification and full Australian working rights

Postino Osteria is Summer Hill’s traditional Italian neighbourhood osteria — part wine bar, part restaurant and part intimate events space.

Since opening in September 2024, Postino has quickly established itself as a standout in Sydney’s dining scene, proudly earning a Chef’s Hat while maintaining the warmth, personality and energy of a true neighbourhood osteria.

Our approach is casual and welcoming, yet uncompromising on quality. The menu celebrates Italian cuisine at its best — from antipasti and handmade pastas to seasonal specials — supported by a thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program.

We are now looking for experienced Section Waiters and Sommeliers who are passionate about great service, Italian food and wine, and creating memorable guest experiences.

The Opportunity

As a Section Waiter or Sommelier, you will play an important role in delivering the warm, polished and knowledgeable style of service Postino is known for.

Working across our 130-seat restaurant, you will take ownership of your section and contribute to à la carte service, group dining and special events.

Your role will include:

• Confidently managing your own section throughout service
• Building genuine connections with guests
• Guiding guests through our food and beverage offering

• Delivering polished, attentive and engaging service
• Managing orders, dietary requirements, billing and payments accurately

About You

We are looking for hospitality professionals who bring energy, personality and confidence to the floor.

To be considered, you will ideally have:

• 1-3 years experience as a Section Waiter / Sommelier within premium or fine dining restaurant environments , or a Diploma in Hospitality
• Strong knowledge of restaurant service standards
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest engagement
• Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
• Experience managing a wine program
• Strong attention to detail and presentation
• Experience using restaurant-based POS systems
• The ability to perform confidently in a busy, high-volume environment
• A current NSW RSA
• Full Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

We would especially love to hear from candidates with:

• Strong Italian food and wine knowledge
• Sommelier or dedicated wine service experience
• Experience providing food and wine pairings
• Formal hospitality, wine or sommelier qualifications
• SevenRooms or similar reservation system experience
• Italian language skills
• WSET Level 2
