Anglo American Australia is seeking a safety-focused Seamgas SCADA Operator based at Moranbah North Mine, Moranbah, QLD. You will monitor and support the safe operation of the seam gas drainage infrastructure to maintain underground atmospheric conditions and enable productive mining activities.

You will respond to SCADA alarms, trends, and escalate issues, while supporting SCADA process development and continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative mining team.

Qualifikationen

• Experience operating or monitoring SCADA, process control or industrial control systems.
• Mining or gas drainage, gas processing, utilities or fixed plant experience beneficial.
• Knowledge of SCADA alarms, trends, envelopes and process control.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to interpret data and identify risks or issues.
• Experience preparing reports and maintaining records.
• Understanding of risk management, process safety and change management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable handovers.
• Ability to work with technical, operational and maintenance teams.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and reliability.

Aufgaben

• Monitor gas extraction, processing, compression and distribution systems through the SCADA network.
• Operate Seamgas infrastructure within approved operating envelopes, alarm limits and TARP requirements.
• Respond to alarms, abnormal trends and potential operational threats.
• Escalate plant, equipment and process issues to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Monitor gas chromatograph data and process safety requirements.
• Analyse production, equipment performance and availability data.
• Provide alarm and trend data for incident and equipment investigations.
• Identify equipment issues that may affect reliability, maintainability or availability.
• Help develop SCADA processes, operating standards, procedures and reports.
• Identify shutdown work early so it can be planned into available plant downtime.
• Maintain Process Safety registers and supporting isolation lock box management.
• Ensure equipment changes are appropriately risk assessed and managed through the change management process.
