Job summary

Anglo American Australia is seeking a safety-focused Seamgas SCADA Operator to monitor and support the seam gas drainage infrastructure at Moranbah North Mine. You will respond to SCADA alarms, analyse trends, and escalate issues to the appropriate teams while contributing to the development of SCADA processes and reports.

The role requires experience with SCADA or industrial control systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating or monitoring SCADA, process control or industrial control systems.
• Experience in mining, gas drainage, gas processing, utilities, fixed plant or similar operational environment.
• Knowledge of SCADA alarms, trends, operating envelopes and process control.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to interpret operational data and identify emerging risks or equipment issues.
• Experience preparing reports and maintaining accurate operational records.
• Understanding of risk management, process safety and change management requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to handover shift details.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support the safe operation of the seam gas drainage infrastructure through the SCADA network.
• Respond to alarms, trends and potential operational threats; escalate as required.
• Develop and improve SCADA processes, reporting systems and procedures.
• Provide alarm and trend data for investigations and reporting.
• Identify equipment issues affecting reliability or availability; assist maintenance teams.
• Coordinate with technical, operational and maintenance staff for safe handovers.
• Support risk assessments and change management for equipment changes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability of gas drainage operations.
