Job summary

Anglo American Australia operates five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin and is recruiting multiple Underground Operators at Moranbah North Mine in Moranbah, Queensland.

Reporting to the Development Superintendent, the role focuses on safe, efficient tasks to support zero-harm goals while maximizing production and reducing costs. The roster is 7 on, 7 off day/night, with camp and mess facilities provided and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in underground coal mining and understanding of coal mining processes and relevant legislation.
• At least 2 years' underground coal mining operational experience is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a professional team to achieve targets.
• Professional work ethic and drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a variety of underground mining equipment.
• Maintain a safe and productive mining environment.
• Apply statutory obligations as required.
• Operate equipment to meet hourly targets.
• Collaborate with on-shift peers to ensure safety and productivity.
• Assist with maintenance activities as required.
• Ensure all authorisations and competencies are up to date.
• Apply Anglo American Safety and Health Management System and Golden Rules.
