Job summary

Recruitment Hive is seeking a Scrum Master for a Federal Government agency to lead Agile squads and drive end-to-end product delivery. The role focuses on backlog management, PI planning, and ensuring timely sprint outcomes within a government context.

Candidates should have 3+ years delivering complex projects with SAFe experience, strong stakeholder engagement, and proficiency with Jira, SharePoint and Confluence. Hybrid work in AUS with security clearance upgrade path.

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years’ experience facilitating the delivery of complex projects using Agile methodologies.
• A strong understanding of the SAFe methodology & its application within a large & complex Program, preferably within a government context.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement & teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues to achieve outcomes.
• Proficiency in using Jira, SharePoint & Confluence for project delivery.
• Tertiary qualifications or industry recognised certification in Management or Project Management (desired).
• Demonstrated work experience managing/delivering large-scale ICT transformation programs / projects in an Australian Government setting (desired).
• Exposure to data migrations, large case management or information systems (desired).

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more Squads in an Agile project environment including software development, implementations & other project deliveries.
• Manage the Squad’s work & backlog including development of reports & burndown charts to track velocity & continually improve team estimations & forecasting.
• Estimate, size & manage User Stories & the product backlog along with working closely with Business Analysts to formulate User Stories, Acceptance Criteria & the Definition of Done.
• Engage with the Test function to ensure timely testing & allocation of defect fixes from the backlog.
• Lead Program Implement (PI) planning activities to map the project end-to-end & ensure delivery of a useable product at the end of every Sprint.
• Coordinate & leading sprints & retrospective meetings which review the previous sprint & daily scrum stand-ups.

Our client, an independent Federal Government agency responsible for implementing and administering the National Disability Insurance Scheme, are seeking the experience of a Scrum Master.

• Exposure to technical projects that involved data migrations, large case management or information management systems (desired).
