Working Arrangements

HybridThe Labour Hire Worker is to work onsite on a full-time basis for the first 6 weeks. A hybrid flexible working arrangement may then be considered, ensuring the Labour Hire Worker’s residing address is within reasonable travel time and distance of the RFQ location to present onsite in cases of emergency or to meet business requirements.

Job Description
  1. 1. Scrum Masters supportthe delivery team, and monitor and improve performance of the team. They useagile methodologies, learning and iterating the product and processesfrequently to meet user needs. They work with Delivery Managers to removeblockers and support the delivery team so that they can maintain deliverythroughput.
  2. 2. The role will place you as a Scrum Master within the DVA ecosystem.
  3. 3. Scrum Masters inServices Australia may work within the following scenarios:
    • o working within or across agile multi-disciplinary teams tosupport the problem definition, prioritisation, design, planning, development,implementation and acceptance of products;
    • o guiding individuals or teams to work using a range ofdifferent agile values, principles and practices to improve BAU functions;
    • o within a project management environment helping teamsunderstand and use a range of different agile values, principles and practices
  4. 4. Scrum Masters play akey role by addressing and removing issues and impediments to the team’sprogress and facilitating team’s key events. They support the team tonegotiate priorities and goals with the Product Owner and protect them fromoutside interruptions and distractions. They also support the team to establishand maintain velocity ensuring they remain on track to meet their agreed goals.
  5. 5. Scrum Masters workunder limited direction of a manager. They exercise both initiative andjudgement in the application of agile values, principles and practices. Scrummasters help to balance the work of the team in the context of competingpriorities, including contributing to planning, changes in workplace practicesand business improvement strategies.
  6. 6. Scrum Masters supportProduct Owners to ensure there is an appropriate backlog of prioritised workitems based on the overall strategy and overarching business objectives.
  7. 7. The role will involvehaving or the ability to gain knowledge of Services Australia’s softwaredevelopment lifecycle, tools, services, deployment procedures and cybersecurity policies as well as industry best practices. You will work closelywith Software Architects, Project Manager, Product Owners, Analysts, Testersand Developers with the shared purpose of building simple, helpful, respectfuland transparent services for everyday Australians.
Requirements

Key duties andresponsibilities

Dutiesand responsibilities may include:

  1. 1. build the team’sknowledge of agile values, and principles, as well as techniques, processes andtools
  2. 2. in collaboration withthe team, develop a mutually agreed social contract outlining team behaviours,practices and agile process rules
  3. 3. plan and facilitateagile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews andretrospectives
  4. 4. assist the ProductOwner with reviewing and refining the product backlog, re-prioritising andre-assessing the relevance of tasks/stories to ensure alignment with agileprinciples
  5. 5. anticipate andaddress/remove blockers/impediments that the team may encounter so the team canremain focused on its goals
  6. 6. negotiate with productowners and stakeholders to protect the team from external influences impactingtheir ability to meet the agreed goals
  7. 7. co-ordinate with otherteams as required to manage dependencies and support the team to deliver
  8. 8. oversee new starters,ensuring a smooth transition into the team including introducing the socialcontract
  9. 9. help the team manageconflicts and challenges, and play a key role in improving team cohesion,motivation, dynamics and performance
  10. 10. create an environmentof trust and respect where issues or concerns can be raised safely
  11. 11. ensure team adherenceto the agreed agile process rules and help the team to remain effective bystepping in to manage conflicts and challenges
  12. 12. conduct agile ritualsand events and be actively involved in communication and change activitiesinvolving stakeholders
  13. 13. research agile trends,industry dynamics, frameworks, and tooling to guide and improve the team’s useof agile methodologies
  14. 14. build capability withinthe team through strategies that include coaching and mentoring
  15. 15. facilitate teams andenable them to self-manage and self-organise
  16. 16. develop and implementchanges in workplace practices and business improvement strategies and assistteam to transition with change
