Job summary

Woodmans Hill Secondary College in Ballarat is seeking classroom teachers to deliver planned programs, targeted instructions and assessments for diverse learners. Teachers will engage in data-informed planning and contribute to school improvement through collaboration with staff and parents.

The roles cover Range 1 and Range 2 classifications, with opportunities to mentor student teachers and lead school initiatives. A commitment to ongoing professional learning is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating impact on growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Behaviours and attitudes consistent with department values; commitment to reflective practice and professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and teach programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
• Contribute to school program development beyond the classroom as experience grows.
• May undertake additional duties appropriate to salary range, qualifications and experience.
• Provide direct teaching to groups and individuals, and participate in meetings and school activities.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers and use student data to inform teaching approaches.
