Job summary

Woodmans Hill Secondary College in Ballarat is seeking a 2027 Science and Maths Teacher (0.8 FTE) on a 12-month fixed term to deliver high-quality learning programs.

You will apply curriculum knowledge, literacy and numeracy integration, plan high‑impact teaching, monitor student progress with data, and build strong collaborative relationships with students, families and colleagues to improve engagement and achievement.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy integration.
• Experience planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies based on how students learn and evaluating impact on growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.
• Demonstrated behaviours aligned with Department values and commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other duties as assigned to support school operations.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings.
• Supervise and train student teachers where applicable.
