Job summary

Aspley State High School is seeking an organised and proactive Science Technician to support the delivery of engaging, hands‑on science learning. The role is a Temporary Part‑Time position (0.60 FTE), 43.5 hours per fortnight, until 10 December 2027, with duties including lab prep, assisting teachers and maintaining safe laboratories.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, solutions and materials for practical science lessons.
• Assist teachers with practical activities and proper use of lab equipment.
• Clean, maintain and check equipment; arrange repairs or replacements as needed.
• Manage stock, monitor supplies and assist with purchasing.
• Maintain chemical records and safety data sheets; support safe handling and disposal.
• Coordinate preparation requests and priorities across the science faculty.
