Job summary

Yeronga State High School, part of the Queensland Department of Education, invites applications for a Science Technician to support the science department. Qualifications

• Experience in school or teaching laboratories.
• Knowledge of chemical hygiene and safety procedures.
• Ability to prepare demonstrations and manage lab resources.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, distribute and set up samples, demonstrations, class sets of equipment and materials.
• Prepare chemical solutions and basic glassware for teaching labs.
• Work independently in a science laboratory with safety awareness.
• Maintain teaching resources, classrooms, storerooms and laboratories in a clean, safe condition.
• Maintain chemical/waste handling and disposal systems per SOPs.
• Record allocation and usage of materials and equipment; prioritise tasks.
