Job summary

St Teresa's Catholic College in Noosaville, part of Brisbane Catholic Education, seeks a Senior Science Laboratory Assistant to support the Science Department. The role is 22.5 hours per week over three days during term time, with school holidays unpaid.

You will promote science initiatives, coordinate practicums, coach staff, manage science resources and ensure WHS compliance, contributing to student pathways and curriculum delivery in a faith‑based community.

Qualifications

• Promote and implement science initiatives to boost engagement and highlight student pathways.
• Lead, coach and develop staff to improve systems and practices.
• Coordinate and facilitate science practicums aligned with the school curriculum.
• Oversee resources and ensure WHS and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Promoting and implementing science initiatives to increase engagement and highlight student pathways
• Participating in leadership decisions to improve school efficiencies and develop systems in line with legislative requirements and school policy and procedures
• Leading, coaching and providing ongoing professional development and instruction to staff to improve systems and practices
• Coordinating and facilitating science practicums/experiments consistent with the science curriculum
• Overseeing resources within the Science Department, implementing and monitoring resource controls including the maintenance/storage of equipment, cleaning and disposal and WHS obligations
