Job summary

Townsville Catholic Education is seeking a School Officer - Laboratory Technician for Columba Catholic College, Charters Towers, QLD. This permanent, term-time role offers 35 hours per week, with duties to design, prepare, deliver and assess practical science activities while maintaining safety and compliance.

You will support teaching staff, manage lab resources, and help ensure a positive learning environment aligned with Catholic values.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting science programs with practical experiments.
• Ability to prepare, maintain, order and dispose of lab materials.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure WHS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, order and safely dispose of laboratory equipment and stock solutions.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure WHS compliance.
• Collaborate with laboratory assistants and academic staff to support student learning.
• Review processes and assist in safe operation of science laboratories.
