Job summary

St Joseph’s College, Lochinvar NSW, is seeking a permanent part-time Laboratory Assistant (21 hrs p/w) to join the Science team from January 2027. The role reports to the Leader of Learning Science and involves preparing materials, maintaining labs, and assisting with classes and excursions as required.

Ideal applicants will have a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills, a current NSW WWCC, and completed anaphylaxis training.

Qualifications

• Commitment to Catholic Education and the school ethos.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students and community.
• Maintain science laboratories and equipment in clean and safe condition.
• Experience in preparation of laboratory solutions and handling of chemicals per regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organise, prioritise and multitask to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for science curriculum and experiments.
• Maintain and organise laboratory spaces and equipment for classes.
• Order and restock laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Support timetabled classes and excursions when appropriate.
