Job summary

Parkes High School in NSW seeks a qualified School Psychologist to provide counselling and assessments for students across primary and high school levels. The role supports teachers and families to enhance learning and wellbeing outcomes, within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

You will participate in supervision, CPD, and meet registration requirements while contributing to a diverse school community and capitalising on opportunities to impact student health and learning.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NSW Department policies and inclusive practices.
• General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Valid WWCC clearance – NSW.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to travel between work sites.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results.
• Collaborates with principals, staff and external agencies to improve student wellbeing.
• Participates in supervision and professional development within the school counselling team.
• Supports schools with complex behavioural needs and student health initiatives.
• Engages with diverse school communities and families to deliver targeted support.
• Assists in implementing the Professional Practice Framework for NSW School Counselling Service.
