Job summary

Council Jobs in Canberra is seeking a School Psychologist to join the ACT Education directorate. The role focuses on improving student wellbeing and learning through assessment, intervention and collaboration with school staff and external agencies.

Based in ACT public schools, the psychologist will develop and evaluate behaviour and learning plans, provide reports and recommendations, and help ensure safe, supportive learning environments for students.

Qualifications

• Current full general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Provisional psychologists may apply but permanent roles require full registration.
• A current WWVP registration is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological and educational assessments and write reports with recommendations.
• Provide psychological interventions for children and young people to support learning and wellbeing.
• Assist in managing critical incidents and liaise with teachers, parents, carers, school administrators and external agencies.
• Collaborate to develop, evaluate and adjust behaviour, social-emotional and individual learning plans.
• Support referral to directorate programs and external services as appropriate.
