Job summary

ACT Education Directorate seeks school psychologists to support students’ wellbeing and learning across behavioural, social, emotional and academic domains. Based in schools, you will work within an Assessment and Early Intervention team to conduct assessments, provide interventions and collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to strengthen outcomes.

Provisional psychologists are welcome to apply, with permanent roles contingent on full registration.

Qualifications

• Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• WWVP registration (Working with Vulnerable People) is required or in progress.
• Provisional psychologists are invited to apply but will not be offered permanent roles until fully registered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychological and educational assessments and write comprehensive reports with recommendations.
• Provide psychological intervention to children and young people to support wellbeing and learning.
• Assist in managing critical incidents and support school staff, parents, carers and external agencies as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, school administrators and external partners to support student learning, wellbeing and behaviour.
• Contribute to development and evaluation of behaviour, social-emotional and individual learning plans.
• Refer to Directorate programs or external services when appropriate to support student outcomes.
• Support policy development and the rollout of prevention programs.
