Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Psychologist based at Billabong High School to deliver counselling and psychological assessment across primary and high school settings. You will contribute to student wellbeing and learning, with supervision and professional development support within a multidisciplinary team.

You will work across life stages, engage with diverse communities, and help families understand and manage learning and mental health needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Aboriginal Education Policy and NSW inclusion strategies.
• Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (general or provisional).
• WWCC clearance in NSW requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between sites.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students individually and in groups.
• Follows Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
• Collaborates with principal, staff and support services to improve wellbeing and learning.
• Supports students with complex behavioural needs.
• Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results.
• Works with families, carers and external agencies to support student health outcomes.
• Responds as part of a team to assist schools in serious incidents.
• Refers students to other agencies to support wellbeing.
