Job summary

Rocksteady Music School Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a School Performance Representative to inspire primary-aged students with live rock and pop music. You’ll bring assemblies and workshops to schools, energising kids and introducing them to instruments.

You will connect with principals and teachers, travel across Sydney daily, and perform on stage with a dynamic, approachable presence. A full Australian driver’s license and own vehicle are required. 38 hours/week, day hours.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full Australian driver’s license and have your own vehicle.
• Experience engaging with primary-aged children in live or classroom settings is essential.
• Ability to travel to multiple schools across Sydney daily.

Responsibilities

• Deliver music assemblies and workshops in primary schools across Sydney.
• Inspire children to learn instruments through engaging performances.
• Perform daily on stage and represent Rocksteady with a friendly, consultative approach.
• Build relationships with school staff to introduce the program and secure participation.

Rocksteady Music School is a leading global provider of in-school rock and pop band lessons. Operating in over 4500 schools and teaching over 125,000 children worldwide, we’ve now launched in NSW and looking to build a team locally to deliver our award-winning lessons.

About the role

As a School Performance Representative, you’ll be the face and voice of our music program, bringing live music to the life of primary-aged kids across the country. You’ll be engaging young audiences, creating unforgettable first experiences of live performance, and sparking a lifelong love of music. Every day you’ll step into the shoes of a person who first inspired you to pick up an instrument.

We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with kids, who is great on the stage, passionate about music, and wants to make a genuine impact. You'll be the friendly face that inspires the next generation of pop and rock artists.

What You'll Be Doing

• Deliver music assemblies and workshops in primary schools across Sydney
• Excite and inspire primary-aged kids to want to learn an instrument in a rock and pop band
• Perform daily in front of the most energised and captivating audience in the world - children
• Build genuine relationships with principals, music coordinators, and teachers to introduce our program and secure school participation.
• Confidently represent our music education offering, communicating its value in a friendly, consultative way (no high-pressure selling).
• This role will require you to travel to different schools across the whole of Sydney every day

What You'll Bring

• Multi-instrumental skills on at least two of the following: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard and vocals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults
• A dynamic, confident and approachable personality
• A passion for performing and public speaking
• A personable, people-focused attitude
• Sales experience is preferred, but not essential (training provided)
• The ability to work independently
• A full Australian drivers license and your own vehicle
• Full-time permanent position, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, daytime only
• 11+ weeks paid holiday per year
• Annual salary plus discretionary company bonus of up to $3000
