Job summary

Victorian Government seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist for a role in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. You will deliver targeted therapy for students, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and develop individualised plans to promote participation and learning.

Responsibilities include assessments, program delivery, outreach, professional development, and documentation. You will contribute to inclusive education practices and liaise with parents and external professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering occupational therapy interventions for children with diverse needs.
• Ability to work within a collaborative professional team.
• Ability to plan and manage caseload with initiative and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of sensory, motor, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning to inform individualised planning.
• Develop, deliver, and evaluate individual and small group therapy programs to enhance participation and independence in learning.
• Support OT strategies within Inclusion Programs and Outreach through collaboration with Leadership and Teaching staff.
• Provide professional development to teachers and staff on sensory regulation, motor skills, and inclusive classroom strategies.
• Mentor and model best practice in Inclusive programs and Outreach, supporting staff to apply therapy strategies in daily practice.
• Collaborate with parents, external professionals, and community agencies to coordinate care and transitions.
• Contribute to school-wide policies and practices to support inclusion of students with disability.
• Maintain accurate records and produce timely reports.
