Job summary

Department of Education Victoria – Red Cliffs VIC is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students with diverse learning, sensory and physical needs within a school setting. You’ll work with teachers, families and a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based assessments and targeted interventions.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated experience in evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and intervention in educational or paediatric settings.
• SC2 Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, families, teachers and external agencies.
• SC3 Ability to develop and deliver staff training on OT theory for whole-school programs.
• SC4 Excellent organisational and time management, manage caseload, maintain records, work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify sensory, motor, self-regulation needs affecting learning.
• Develop and evaluate individual and small-group intervention programs using evidence-based practice.
• Provide recommendations to improve student participation within classroom and playground environments.
• Collaborate with teachers, Education Support staff, school leaders, families and external agencies to develop coordinated support plans.
• Maintain accurate assessment records and reports in accordance with professional and departmental requirements.
• Work within the school's multidisciplinary wellbeing and inclusion team to improve outcomes for students.
