Job summary

McAuley College in Beaudesert seeks a compassionate School Officer (Inclusive Education) to provide one-on-one support to a student, assisting learning, wellbeing and participation. You will work with teachers to foster an inclusive environment and help with personal care as needed.

Experience with diverse learning needs and strong admin skills are valued. Certificate III in Education Support would be highly regarded; Catholic affiliation is not required.

Qualifications

• Ability to assist in delivering teaching programs, including technology use and learning support.
• Knowledge of how to prepare learning activities and organise resources/materials for lessons.
• Organisational skills to maintain the safety and cleanliness of resources and promptly arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.

Responsibilities

• Providing support to a student with additional needs, including assisting with the personal care requirements.
• Assist with the manual handling and safe transfer of students as required, following established health and safety guidelines.
• Assisting with the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs, including the use technology and learning support activities.
• Monitoring the progress of the student and identifying learning areas to provide evidence-based intervention strategies.
• Improving student learning outcomes by providing support and advice on supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Collaborating with school specialists in organising and assisting with intervention groups to coordinate services.
• Documenting observation notes, intervention programs and assist in the collation and preparation of classroom materials.

Working closely with teachers and support staff, the successful applicant will play an important role in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

• Salary: School Officer Level 2 $32.50 + 12.75% Super (School Salary Scale)

About the opportunity
