Job summary

Rockhampton Girls Grammar School in Queensland is seeking a Grounds and Maintenance Assistant to support the school's operational property and care for grounds and facilities.

The role covers mowing, planting, pruning, cleaning, and minor repairs, with an immediate start and full-time hours. Candidates should be able to interact with students and staff and adapt to a changing work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and interact appropriately and effectively with students and staff.

• High level of time management and the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Mow and maintain gardens, fertilise, prune, edge and weed.
• Prepare and plant seasonally appropriate displays.
• Move or relocate furniture, tools and equipment as required.
• Ensure bins are emptied daily and cleaned; dispose of waste.
• Clean external surfaces, roofs, gutters and downpipes as required.
• Monitor service contracts (e.g. rubbish collection, cleaning).
• Provide support to other facilities staff and perform minor repairs.
